What we fish for

Beautiful Florida peacock bass

Peacock Bass
These are quickly becoming one of the most widespread exotic fish in South Florida. Depending on the time of year and conditions, I can target Peacock Bass from the urban oasis of Miami, all the way deep into the Everglades. Each setting is unique, but the Peacock Bass always live up to their reputation of being incredibly hard fighters no matter where you catch them.
Peacock Bass are diurnal, meaning they are active during the day. There’s no need to wake up super early, so enjoy your breakfast. You’re going to need it! Most trips will start between 8 - 9am depending on the time of year. You’ll have the opportunity to land anywhere between 10 to 30 fish on a typical day, and during certain times of year a 45+ fish day is not uncommon. Other species you might connect with while targeting peacocks are largemouth, midas cichlids, mayan cichlids, and if you’re lucky, the rare freshwater snook, and tarpon. Peacock Bass can be selective with what they eat, which is why I highly recommend using live shiners to offer you the best chance of success.

Everglades largemouth bass

Largemouth Bass / Everglades
The remote locations we fish for largemouth bass in South Florida are the epitome of contrast from the busy and bustling lifestyle of the city. You’ll watch the urban landscape slowly disappear on the early morning drive into the glades, and transform into a sea of grass for as far as you can see. Incredible scenery, minimal noise, and superb bass fishing make this trip something everyone should experience in their lifetime.

During peak times of the year, it’s not uncommon to boat over 100 fish during a trip. On average we land between 20 - 50 fish per outing, and you have the potential to connect with a trophy largemouth on any cast. Other fish you might encounter are bowfin, gar, bluegill, crappie, oscars, and a host of unique and colorful cichlids that have found their way into these waters. Other wildlife you’ll commonly see on this trip are alligators, snakes, great blue herons, osprey, hawks, and many different species of wading birds. It is truly a place unique to South Florida, and the combination of fishing, scenery, and tranquility make it one of my favorites.

We target largemouth bass with artificial lures, but live shiners are always available for anyone wanting the highest chance of success.

Big Florida bullseye snakehead

Bullseye Snakehead
Bullseye Snakehead are an introduced species here in South East Florida. Their aggressive behavior, explosive strikes, and rod breaking strength are quickly earning them the title of “The Gamefish Of The Future”. If you’re after one of the most challenging and aggressive freshwater fish in North America, this trip is most definitely for you.

Targeting these fish can be very challenging as they are extremely smart, very observant, and have acute senses to detect potential prey & predators. We primarily target snakehead with casting gear, and top water frogs, but there are a variety of techniques and lures we employ to trick these sneaky fish. I highly recommend being proficient with using a baitcaster before engaging in this trip, but I can accommodate anyone that prefers spinning tackle. The world record bullseye snakehead is over 15 pounds, but landing a double digit is rare due to how smart these fish are. A 2 - 3 pound snakehead can put up a fight like a largemouth bass twice its size, which makes catching almost any snakehead extremely exciting.
Accurate casting and patience are needed to target these snakehead, so expect a learning curve if this is your first time snakehead fishing. I will guide and coach you every step of the way to provide the best chance of landing these beautiful, elusive, and unique fish.

Due to how challenging it can be to target snakeheads, the minimum trip duration is a Super Half Day (6 hours).

*Disclaimer: All snakehead charters are strictly catch and release.
